Jane Mary Iavasile, 90, formerly of Tyrone, died Tuesday at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, Ky.
She was born in Saxton, daughter of Angelo and Pansy (Ventrisca) Giuliani. She married Frank J. Iavasile on Sept. 9, 1947, in Tyrone, and he died May 26, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Coady and husband, Lemoyne, of Palmyra; a son, Frank J. Jr. of Newport, Ky.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Jane retired in May 1988 from the housekeeping department of Tyrone Hospital after 11 years of service. She had previously been employed at the Tyrone Laundry for 17 years and the shoe factory in Vail for two years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita, and she had been a volunteer at the soup kitchen and at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Shop, Tyrone.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, Father Jozef Kovacik as celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
