Irene C. Finelli, 87, Altoona, died Sunday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview after a brief illness.
She was born in Antis Township, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary S. (Zurich) Pavlic. She married Michael A. Finelli on Sept. 6, 1952, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years; three children: Douglas (Caroline) in Louisiana, Brenda J. Perretta (David) of Altoona and Ronald (Maryann) of Altoona; five grandchildren: Tehia (Perretta) Douglas, Daniel Finelli, Lori (Finelli) Yurkovich, Brendan Perretta and Jamie Finelli; two great-grandchildren: Audrey Douglas and Allissa Douglas; two brothers: Joseph Pavlic of Altoona and John Pavlic of Newry; and special nieces: Marilyn Perretta, Paula Wisniski and Barb Heirst.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Andrew and Paul; and two sisters: Dolores Wisniski and Frances Updike.
Irene was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and had retired as a seamstress from Tritex Sportswear after 32 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and bus trips to Atlantic City.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church by the Franciscan Fathers. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
