Alline G. German, 103, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Walter R. and Blanche (Tittler) Hurm. She married John G. German Jr. on Dec. 31, 1931, in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1982.
Surviving are four children: a daughter, Peggy A. Gerard of Abington; a daughter, Morea W. Roddy of Victorville, Calif.; a son, John G. German III and wife, Susan, of Troy, N.C.; and a son, Guy J. German of Charleroi; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert B. Hurm.

Mrs. German was a 1928 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1931 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She was formerly employed as a nurse at Altoona Hospital and had also been employed for 14 years as a private duty nurse for a total of 47 years of service before retirement. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Altoona, where she belonged to the Kingdom Builders Sunday School class.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday with Pastor John Collins officiating.
Interment will be made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Altoona.
