Carmella J. "Connie" Vellone, 94, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at the village.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Antonio and Mary (Dunio) Damico. She married Andrew A. Vellone, and he died Aug. 10, 1993.
Surviving are five children: John (Edith), Anthony (Cheryl), Joseph (Ann) and Delores (George) Lepore, all of Altoona, and Cynthia (Frank) Yablinsky of Duncansville; eight grandchildren: Gina McCutchen, Astrid Johnson, Tony Vellone Jr., Justi McCaulley, Andrea Leeper, Abby Vellone and Michele and Jennifer Lepore; seven great-grandchildren: Ashton Glick, Olivia and Sophia Vellone, Evan and Noah McCaulley, Andrew Leeper and Brayden Harbaugh; two sisters: Maggie Sidler of Altoona and Anna Hosko of Warriors Mark; and two brothers: Sam Damico of Altoona and Joseph Damico of Vista, Calif.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Angie Damico and Rose Folcarelli; and a brother, Frank Damico.
Connie retired as an inspector for Saf-T-Bak. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
In memory of Connie, contributions may be given to the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
