Lila Lee (Aughenbaugh) Forney, 87, The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday at the home.
She was born in St. Benedict, daughter of the late Cyril Grey and Margaret Pauline (Seese) Aughenbaugh. She married Robert Thomas Forney, who preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1992.
Surviving are three children: Alan R. of Pittsburgh, Ronald T. (Nancy) of Altoona and Carol L. Fellinger (Michael) of State College; eight grandchildren: Ryan Forney, Tara Apgar, Sean Forney, Krista Ruggery, Brandon Fellinger, Oscar Fellinger, Shannon Forney and Robert "Bo" Forney; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, R. Denny Aughenbaugh, on Nov. 15, 2001. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Lila was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School. She had been employed at Sylvania, the Horseshoe Curve Gift Shop and Super Shoes. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Lila enjoyed classic movies, reading, dining out with friends, vacationing at the beach and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Pastor Sharon Erb. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
