Richard A. ‘Dick’ Croft

Richard A. "Dick" Croft, 85, Martinsburg, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening at Altoona Regional after an extended illness.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Herbert and Ruth (Brumbaugh) Croft. He married Wanda Rayfield on Dec. 30, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., and they were married 66 wonderful years.

Surviving are his wife; four children: Lucretia Bechtel and husband, John, of Fort Myers, Fla., Patty Wilson and husband, George, of Hollidaysburg, Rick of Hollidaysburg and Scott and wife, Tammy, of Roaring Spring; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Brumbaugh; and two sisters: Shirley Cox and Elizabeth Steward.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Croft.

Dick served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from 1945-47. He retired from the Roaring Spring Blank Book Co. in 1990 after 36 years of service. He was a member of Martinsburg Church of God. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family by Pastor Lew Button. Inurnment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
