Irvin William Leidy, 83, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, went home to his heavenly father on Dec. 25, 2012, after suffering from an extended illness.
He was the younger of two sons born to the late Paul and Alice (Barnes) Leidy.
He was a devout husband to his wife, Mary Jo (Ecker) of Duncansville, for 62 years and is also survived by a son, Roger and wife, Sue, of Val Rico, Fla.; a daughter, Karen of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gilbert.
Irvin was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been employed by SKF for 39 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hollidaysburg.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are by Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania Inc.
