LIGONIER - Tournament MVP Olivia McCabe had 18 points and eight rebounds as Portage defeated Ligonier Valley in the Championship game of the Ligonier Valley tournament, 49-46, on Friday in high school girls basketball.
Emily Chobany added 20 points and five rebounds for Portage, and was also named to the all-tournament team. Kyra Ludwig led Ligonier with 15 points.
Portage improved to 8-0.

WILLIAMSBURG - Glendale's Katelyn Matthews scored a game-high 17 points and hauled down 10 rebounds as the Lady Vikings topped Philipsburg-Osceola, 35-33, in the first round of the Williamsburg Holiday Tournament.
Teammate Cassidy Noel also posted double figures with 13. Philipsburg-Osceola's Briana Rusnak scored 10 to lead P-O.
Glendale will face Williamsburg in today's final. The Lady Pirates rolled past Moshannon Valley, 60-23, behind 10 points from Nitia Repine.
