HUNTINGDON - The Huntingdon girls captured the Huntingdon Lions Tournament at Juniata College with a 45-26 win over Juniata Valley in the championship game Thursday.
Tara Smith led the Lady Bearcats with 18 points, and Haley Myers scored 11 for Juniata Valley.
Earlier, Juniata Valley topped Mount Union, 49-39, behind Myers' 19 points.

LIGONIER - Olivia McCabe had 24 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks as Portage defeated Latrobe in the first round of the Ligonier Valley Holiday Tournament.
Emily Chobany contributed 16 points and six assists for the Lady Mustangs, followed by Emily McCabe's 10 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Katie Nolan had eight points and three steals.
Portage continued its streak, improving to 7-0, and will meet host Ligonier Valley in today's final.
