Edward Paul Nagle Sr.

Edward Paul "Eddie Paul" Nagle Sr., 64, Ashville, died Wednesday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Allegheny Township, Blair County, son of the late Sirel T. Sr. and Anna Mae (Knee) Nagle. He married Diane Davis on Nov. 20, 1971, in Lilly.

Surviving are his wife; two children: Sandra (Randy) Clossin of Ashville and Christopher (Julie) of Gallitzin; seven grandchildren: Shane, Cory, Tanner, Owen, Alivia, Alena and Elliott; and five siblings: Sirel Jr. (Mary) of Gallitzin, Brenda (Frank) Kratzer of Ashville, Deb (Mario) Bukowski of Gallitzin, Duane (Wendy) of Ashville and David of Ashville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Paul Jr., on April 22, 2003; and an infant sister, Donna Jean.

Edward was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had worked for Bethlehem Mines 32, Conrail, Gearhart's Moving, Crain's Poultry, Union Roofing and Gallitzin American Legion, where he was a bartender for many years.

Edward was a member of the Gallitzin American Legion, where he served in various positions, Gallitzin Moose, Sokal's, Lilly, and Gallitzin Sportsmen's Association and a life member of Gallitzin VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheel riding and his family.

There will be no viewing or visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Patrick Cemetery with military rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations.

Arrangements are by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin.
