Gregory Allan Laird, 62, Snellville, Ga., formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Donna; three daughters: Christine of Dillon, Colo., Stephanie McClannan and husband, Mike, of Loganville, Ga., and Rebecca of Snellville, Ga.; a granddaughter, Samantha Laird of Loganville; his mother, Ruth A. Laird of Altoona; two siblings: Pamela and Scott, both of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Castle E.; and a sister, Carol J.
Gregory was a 1968 graduate of Altoona High School and retired from Holox Co. after 20 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He was an avid nature lover and a history buff. He loved spending time with his loving family and will be deeply missed by them and by many friends.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, Snellville Chapel, Snellville, Ga., where a memorial service celebrating Gregory's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
