Kenneth D. Lynn, 60, of rural Hollidaysburg went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Friday morning in Frankstown Township.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of John W. and Helen E. (Mattern) Lynn. He married Rose M. Hoffner on May 22,1973, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 39 years; a son, Michael S. (wife, Katrina) of Williamsburg; a daughter, Jennifer D. Rhodes of rural Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Logan, Roy, Zachary, Katelyn and Marcella; his mother of rural Williamsburg; two brothers: John W. of York and Jerry S. of rural Williamsburg; many loving family members and dear friends: LouAnn and Alton Hileman.

He also is survived by a great-nephew, 5-year-old Owen Dively, who during this terrible tragedy expressed to his mother, "who is going to take care of Aunt Rose?"
He was preceded in death by his father, who died Feb. 19, 2000; and a son-in-law, William H. Rhodes Jr.
He was currently employed at Grannas Brothers, where he had worked for the past four years. Before that, he was employed for four years at J-Line Trucking Co. and prior to that, he was employed for 33 years at Pepsi Bottling Co., Altoona, where he held various positions.
Ken was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where he served as head usher and was a member of the property committee. He formerly served as church treasurer and was a former member and president of the church council and the adult choir. Ken was also a former member of Williamsburg Area Improved Dwellings Inc.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring tractors and classic cars, camping and boating, making homemade ice cream, cutting wood and hunting deer with his son Mike, granddaughter Logan and son-in-law, Bill. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ken and Rose were also surrounded by many fine neighbors.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, with Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Interment will follow at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, rural Hollidaysburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or directly to the family.
