Gov. Corbett's plan for obtaining revenue by uncapping the oil franchise tax is certainly typical of the Republican way of thinking.
Why not obtain revenue by cutting the big salaries of our illustrious elected officials?
It seems they have no problem raising taxes and allowing price increases that affect the poor and middle-class folks.
Personally, I feel the elected positions should be minimum-wage jobs. That may be enough to allow our government to have a little compassion for those who struggle to make ends meet on virtually no income.
I would love to see any one of those elected individuals live on the wages those who put them into office are forced to live on.
