Dino Mario Capone, 78, New York, N.Y., entered into rest Monday at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born in Altoona, son of Costantino and Cristina (Tupone) Capone.
Surviving are a sister, Lilia Sprankle of Altoona; two brothers: Alberto in California and Gene of Altoona; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Richard Garren in California; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Domenico and Arturo.
Dino was raised in Altoona and attended local schools. He was a graduate of Penn State University and also attended Fordham University, Hunter College and City College of New York, New York City. He retired from the New York Public Library.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Riverdale Funeral Home Inc., New York City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Cabrini Chapel in Manhattan. Interment will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
