Cleo Sutton, 92, Chest Springs, died Monday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Gary Marra of Jefferson Street, Ashville.
She was born in Ashville, daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Basal) Krug.
Surviving are five children: Bess Benshoff (Jim) of New Germany, Paul (Carolyn Good) of Medina, Ohio, Sally Fogle (Dan) of Chest Springs, Susie Marra (Gary) of Ashville and Theresa Hoover (Jake) of Patton; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, on March 26, 1998; a son, Fred; two daughters-in-law: Judy (Winter) and Barbara (Bratt); four sisters: Marie McMullen, Margaret Storm, Millie McElheny and Thelma Hanlon; and a brother, Charles. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Cleo worked at the shirt factory in Patton and as a cook at St. Francis College, Loretto, and also sold Dutch Maid and Avon products. She was a member of the Loretto American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Ashville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Chest Springs Senior Citizens, Chest Springs Sportsmen, Altar and Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs.
Cleo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter and playing cards.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at St. Monica Catholic Church, Chest Springs, the Rev. Joseph Fleming as celebrant. Committal will be in the church cemetery.
