GLENSHAW - Penn State recruit Geno Thorpe scored 40 points for Shaler to help hand Altoona its first loss of the season, 75-58, Saturday afternoon in high school boys basketball action.

DeShae Lee led the Mountain Lions with 24 points after missing the past three games.

Manny Span added 17 points for Altoona, which was outscored, 23-11, in the first quarter.

Shaler improved to 4-1.
