Dorothy Lee Hoover

Dorothy Lee Hoover of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Bellemead, went home to be with the Lord late Friday evening Dec. 14, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late A. Harry and Nula (Bell) Lewis. She married Ray H. Hoover in Warrick County, Va., and they celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Surviving are her husband; a sister, Mary Jane Riedel and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Richard Riedel, of Lancaster, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her twin sister, Doris L. Rose; and a brother, Dean E. Lewis.

She retired as a clerk from Sears and previously had worked at Sylvania.

Mrs. Hoover was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Altoona.

Dorothy was a graduate of Altoona High School.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday Dec. 17, 2012, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., Altoona, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Riedel officiating.

Entombment will be made at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Third Presbyterian Church, 127 Fifth Ave., Altoona, PA 16602 or Homewood at Martinsburg, 437 Givler Drive, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
