Betty Jean Fasick, 83, of Tyrone passed away Saturday morning at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
She was born in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine Roberts.
On Oct. 18, 1953, she married Ray Elmo Fasick at Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Betsy, and her husband, David Frye, of St. Leonard, Md.; and a grandson, Benjamin Ray Frye of Tyrone.
Betty was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Travis Blair Frye, who died in 2003; three brothers: Raymond, Lee and William; three sisters: Mildred, Marie and Dana; and a nephew, Gerald Roberts, of Tyrone.
She retired as a dental assistant/office manager after 43 years of employment with Dr. Samuel Lake, Tyrone.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Tyrone High School.
She was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she had been baptized. Betty was also very involved with the planning committees and friends of the Tyrone High School class of 1948.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., 115 W. 10th St., Tyrone, and from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Logan Ave., Tyrone, with the Rev. Jason Guillaume officiating. A private interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park.
