American Music Theatre's Christmas show is back with a homespun twist on the holiday.
The Lancaster theater's 2012 Christmas show, "Home for the Holidays," hit the stage Nov. 2 and will run through Dec. 30, with morning, afternoon and evening performances.
The show has already welcomed thousands, with some coming back for seconds and thirds, AMT's artistic director Andrea McCormick said.
"I encourage people who want to get in the Christmas spirit to come celebrate with us," she said.
The most popular show of the year has become a family tradition for patrons, she said.
"They really appreciate the quality and standard that goes into the Christmas show," she said of what brings people back year after year.

The cast has 16 adults and four youth teams of 11 children each, and a 10-person orchestra, she said.
Last year's show theme was "Winter Wonderland," but this year, they took the show indoors with "Home for the Holidays."
The show takes place in a mansion, and includes a Christmas party, caroling, a church service and a dreamy trip to Candy Land.
McCormick imagines what she would want to see, and attempts to give the audience a "special Christmas journey emotionally and musically," she said.
This is her third Christmas show. She has tried to keep the shows "unique" while following a "recipe," she said.
The show's staples are its orchestra and singing "O Holy Night" at the conclusion, she said.
Other songs in the production include, "Merry Christmas, Darling," "Jingle Bells," and "White Christmas," a press release said.
