Alfred J. "Fritz" Stanslaw Sr., 96, Duncansville, died Wednesday evening in Roaring Spring.
He was born in Lilly, son of the late Paul and Pasqualine (Marsh) Stanslaw. He married Regina Thompson, and she died in October 2005 after having shared 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Kay Ann Burket and husband, Paul, of Altoona; a son, Alfred J. Jr. and wife, Cathy, of East Freedom; Lorraine Kane of Duncansville; and a sister, Marge Hochrein.
He was the beloved grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Stacey, Justin, Jessica and Cass.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Victor, Joseph and Carmen; a sister, Larentia Burgess; a grandson, James Shawley; and a daughter, Jerilyn Simpson.
Fritz retired from the maintenance department of Mercy Hospital, Altoona. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Duncansville.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newry.
