Walter M. Hall, 86, Altoona, died Wednesday at Altoona Regional after an extended illness.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Walter R. and Grace (Kessinger) Hall. He was raised by Helen and David Scott, who were his aunt and uncle. He married Gloria Mauk, and she died Feb. 2, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Brown and husband, Mark; and a brother, Dick Miller of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Miller.
Walter was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He had been employed at Heidelberg Country Club in the maintenance personnel. He enjoyed reading and writing.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
