The Altoona boys and girls swim teams opened their season with wins over Central at the AAHS Fieldhouse.
The Altoona boys got double wins from Kyle Heasley and Aaron Cummings en route to a 97-21 victory. Central got two wins from Brock Dodson. The Altoona girls did not have any double winners, but had enough second- and third-place finishes for an 83-73 win over the Lady Scarlet Dragons.
Central double winners on the girls side included Alyssa Clark, Jena Gunnett and Taylor Flaugh.

Tigers deliver
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Hollidaysburg boys and girls teams continued their season with big wins against Ligonier Valley.
The Tigers won, 120-42. Mace Long set his second pool record for Hollidaysburg this season with a 53.57 time in the 100 butterfly. His brother, Colter Long, beat a 20-year pool record in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.73. The previous record was held by Chuck Brown (1:04.56).
Brian Flynn and Max Gehringer had double-win performances for Hollidays-burg on the boys' side, with Flynn winning in the 200 (2.03.35) and 500 freestyle (5:43.32) and Gheringer taking the 200 IM (2:22.98) and 100 freestyle (56.60).
The Hollidaysburg girls scored a 124-45 victory, with Maisie Supp taking first place in both the 200 (2:14.56) and 100 freestyle (59.87), and was accompanied by Casey Holliday's wins in the 50 freestyle (27.28) and 100 backstroke (1:11.55).

EBENSBURG - Gabby Gironda won the 200 IM and 100 butterfly and anchored two winning relays, while Allison Risaliti took first in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke to power the Central Cambria girls swim team to a 89-78 victory over visiting Northern Cambria in the first meet of the season for both schools.
The CC boys also prevailed, getting wins from Frank Horne in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke and Alex Chiappini in the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle.
