Alex Cummings, an Altoona graduate, was part of a school record for Indiana University of Pennsylvania men's swimming team at the Zippy Invitational this past weekend.
He was part of the 400 medley relay team and swam the breaststroke leg in 57.7. The overall time of 3:26.5 broke a record that had stood since 2005.
He also had four personal best times in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.5, 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.1, 200 breaststroke in 2:08.7 and 1:49.0 in the 200 freestyle.

Penn Cambria graduate Evan Link recorded a pin and a major decision victory in a pair of University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown wrestling wins this past week.
Glenn Winslow, a graduate of Cambria Heights, also won two matches, one by pin and another by forfeit at 133 pounds.
Ebensburg native Ben Rager rounded out the area's success with a 7-1 decision win against Ohio Valley.

Altoona graduate Anthony Lytle had his best game of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, for the Calrifornia, Pa. Vulcans men's basketball team in a victory over Lytle's former team, Edinboro.
The loss was Edinboro's first of the season. Lytle is averaging 9.8 points and six rebounds per game.

Jarrett Shannon, a Hollidaysburg graduate, is averaging 1.4 points per game for the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team through seven games off the bench.
Tyrone graduate and last year's Mirror boys basketball player of the year, has played in four games for the Bobcats in limited time.
