Dustin Lewis "Sarge" Lear, 28, Bellwood, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday.

He was born in Altoona, son of Kathy (Leonard) Irving and the late Guy Lewis Lear. He married Amanda L. Rickard on Feb. 19, 2010, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; his mother; three sons: Jarred, Darien and Caiden; two brothers: Stephen and wife, Mimma, of the Poconos and Austin of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; a sister, Ashley Ann of Long Beach, Calif.; and his second mother, Carla Dosh of Altoona.

Dustin was a 2002 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 2006 in Iraq as a wheeled vehicle mechanic and recovery specialist and attaining the rank of sergeant. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Allegheny Trucks.

Dustin was of the Methodist faith and had been attending Good Shepherd Church. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, shooting, camping, fishing and video games, and he absolutely loved his job as a diesel mechanic.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, the Rev. Joe Fleck officiating, with military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 430 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17603; or to the National Rifle Association, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
