Robert C. Black Sr., 72, Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Regional after an extended illness with cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late George Robert and Elenor (Clare) Black. He married Carol Haller on June 29, 1963, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.
Surviving are a daughter, Wendy Bogard and husband, Dr. Peter Bogard, of Grants Pass, Ore.; a son, Robert C. Jr. of Claysburg; four grandchildren: Alec, Connor, Shelby and Presley; two brothers-in-law: Edward Haller and wife, Barbara, and Brian Haller and wife, Nanette; two sisters-in-law: Denna Hensley and June Persun and husband, Jerry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired in June 2012 as the owner of Robert C. Black Auto Upholstering, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, Pastor Roy Steward officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
