Carl S. Nerenberg, 61, Hollidaysburg, died Saturday at Altoona Regional after an extended illness.
He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Leonard Nerenberg and Shirley (Paikin) Nerenberg. He married Nadeen A. McLoota on Oct. 23, 1976, at University Park Chapel at Penn State in State College.

Surviving are his wife; his mother; a son, Michael Antony Nerenberg of Hollidaysburg; and a sister, Lisa Nerenberg of Philadelphia.
Mr. Nerenberg was a 1969 graduate of Cheltenham High School and graduated in 1973 with a B.A. in speech communications from Penn State University. He retired from Morgan Signs as a sales rep.
Mr. Nerenberg was an avid sports fan, especially of Philadelphia teams. He enjoyed reading, music and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Nerenberg was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. He was a Tonsured reader, cantor and choir member at the church. He was past vice president and member of the Loyal Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch, Eastern Diocese, and past vice president and member of Fellowship of St. John the Divine, Eastern Diocese.
Friends will be received from 2 to4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, Pa., where a Trisagion service will be held at 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church by Father Joseph Gereige. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 519 58th St., Altoona, PA 16602.
