Alice R. Boston, 83, Altoona, died Friday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Cresson, daughter of the late Benjamin and Cecelia (Galley) Gallagher. She married Robert E. Boston on Nov. 18, 1950, in Cumberland, Md. He died on Sept. 14, 1998.
She is survived by four sons: Michael (Sue) Boston of Altoona, Richard Boston of Hollidaysburg, Frank (Renee) Boston of Durham, N.C., and Glen R. (Carol) Boston of Silver Spring, Md.; five daughters: Winifred Liggio of Terrytown, La., Lucy (Mark) Rossi of Duncansville, Joann (Pat) Nardon of Altoona, Roberta Boston of Pittsboro, N.C., and Melanie (Todd) Boston-Sperling of Philadelphia; two brothers: Paul Gallagher of York, Pa., and Clarence Gallagher of York Haven, Pa.; two sisters: Irene Sylvester of Duncansville and Rita Gall of Manchester, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Gallagher and Theresa Gallagher.
Alice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Alice loved watching Western shows and reading, and she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at The Stevens Mortuary, 1421 Eighth Ave. Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Monsignor Stanley Carson. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
