Richard A. "Dick" Gormont, 79, Duncansville, passed away Wednesday at home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph Reed Gormont and Dorothy (Carr) Gormont Carpenter. He married Laura Alice Miller on June 28, 1969, and she passed away July 3, 1994.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Resig and fiance, Brian McKee, and his daughter, Jessica McKee, all of Duncansville; and two stepsisters: Loey Scott of Fort Mills, S.C., and Norma Scott of Arapahoe, N.C.
Dick was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired as an electrician from Penelec in 1993, and he was a member of the Duncansville VFW Post 8724 and Allegheny Club of Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, Pastor Timothy Guyer officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society or SouthernCare Hospice.
