Russell F. Cherry, 94, Tipton, died Monday morning at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Tipton, son of the late Walter B. and Agnes H. (Fogle) Cherry. He married Beatrice Marie Keith in 1939. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2009.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Lynn, in October 1944; three brothers: Donald W., W. Robert and Harry A.; and four sisters: Silva Johnson, Jessie B. Gensamer, Susan C. and Pearl Rhoades.

Russell retired in 1978 as a brakeman/conductor with the Pennsylvania Railroad/Conrail. He enjoyed hunting, fishing trips to Canada and vegetable and flower gardening.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, the Rev. Robert J. Kennedy officiating. Interment will be at Charlottesville Cemetery, Tipton.
