Gehret propels Lions past Pitt-Bradford

Matt Gehret scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds in a 59-53 Penn State Altoona win over Pitt-Bradford in men's college basketball Saturday

The Lions were trailing, 31-24, in the first half, but pushed ahead with a 12-point lead in the second stanza, 35-22.

Teammate Durant Harvin scored 13 points. Brandon McClester led Pitt-Bradford with 14 points, followed by Jesse DeLoof's 12 points.

Mounties bounce Medaille

CRESSON - The Mount Aloysius men improved to 4-1 on the season after downing defending conference champion Medaille College, 76-52.

Jeff Stem led Mount Aloysius with 23 points. Tanner Thomas added 15 points, while Dameon Turner chipped in with 12 points.

Tyler Stevens and Alex Baron each had 10 points for Medaille.
