Robert John Shoemaker, 48, Altoona, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of Robert Fahr of Hagerstown, Md., and April Neal of Altoona.
Surviving are his parents; a son, Robbie of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Miranda Martz of Altoona; his longtime companion, Robin Benton; his grandmother, Virginia Johns of Altoona; a sister, Cindy Shoemaker of Altoona; a niece, Sara Ferry; uncles and aunts: Tom Fahr, Stephen and David Neal and Roxanne Barr; and numerous friends and family in the Altoona area.
Robert spent his youth living in the Brush Mountain area. He enjoyed spending time with his son with computers, gaming and watching the Miami Dolphins. He became a member of the Baha'i faith at the age of 15.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
