There was earlier talk of ousting Gov. Tom Corbett from office. Well, let's do it! He has no feelings for the people here in the U.S.
On the news, it was said he wants to sell the Pennsylvania Lottery to the British for billions of dollars. Why? I am one of the elderly, and the lottery pays from many of the senior programs we need. We depend on the senior centers and all they do for us with the van services and so many other programs. I can see why Corbett's popularity rate is low.
I've never seen a country run as poorly as ours - where there's no concern for the people. If we keep selling all we have, what will we have?
If they would use the money to help save Social Security and Medicare, then I could understand. If they're selling the Pennsylvania Lottery just to load their own pockets, again, I think it's shameful that we have a government that is so full of greed.
I'm tired of hearing about all their pay increases when they can only give those on Social Security a small allowance.
Let's fight to get rid of Corbett. He is not doing good for us. He just wants to keep taking more away, and he will continue to do so if we let him!
Connie Grenz, Altoona
Editor's note: The Corbett administration is considering a proposal from a British company to take over management of the state lottery for 20 years. Pennsylvania would continue to own the lottery. Corbett believes private management could be a way for the lottery to generate more revenue to support programs for seniors.
