Kay S. Gehret, 77, formerly of Altoona, died Thursday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Huntingdon, daughter of the late Paul E. and Ruth (Lightner) Gehret.
Surviving are a brother, William Gehret of Slidell, La.; a sister-in-law, Lucille Gehret of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul G. Gehret; and a sister, Armona Preddy.
Kay was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as an office worker from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. after 19 years of service and previously was employed by A&P in the main office for 23 years. She was a member of Simpson-Temple United Parish.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., the Rev. John P. Klingeman officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
