Wayne A. Sollenberger, 70, Martinsburg, died Tuesday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing Care after an extended illness.
He was born in Henrietta, son of the late David Casper and G. Leona (Imes) Sollenberger. He married Beatrice L. "Bea" VanZandt on Dec. 5, 1964.
Surviving are his wife; two children: Lisa M. Hill and husband, Rodney, of Altoona and Dale W. and wife, Christie, of Martinsburg; and two grandsons: Alex and Ryan Sollenberger.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth E.
Wayne was a 1960 graduate of Morrison Cove High School and was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, and he enjoyed traveling and helping on the farm.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, by Pastor Ben Hoover. Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
Contributions in Wayne's memory may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Red Cross.
