Margie M. Kennedy, 84, Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his heavenly kingdom Tuesday afternoon at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.
She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Grant and H. Ruth (Sorrick) Frye. She married Perry W. Kennedy on Dec. 10, 1947, in Williamsburg, and he preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1992, after 44 years of marriage.
Surviving are seven children: Linda Longenecker and husband, Harold, Kim Robley and husband, the late John Robley, Randy and wife, Bonnie, and David and fiancee, Dena Hileman, all of Williamsburg, and Ronda Brantner and husband, Richard, Sherry Banks and fiance, Paul Hill, and Gary and wife, Amy, all of Martinsburg; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Helen Burger and husband, Ed, of Williamsburg and Doris Ann Reigh and husband, Fred, of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by six brothers: Fred, Chester, George, Norman, Theodore and Francis; a sister, Esther Waite; and a daughter-in-law, Sondra.
Margie was a 1946 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She retired as a packer from Westvaco, Williamsburg, in 1990 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Margie was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Along with her husband, Perry, she enjoyed camping and traveling, having been a member of the Keystone Retiree Camping Club and Holiday Rovers Camping Club. In 1992, they were crowned king and queen of the Pennsylvania State Retiree Camping Club.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, and 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Brian L. McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Station 90, or Williamsburg Public Library.
