Frederick Leroy Becker, 78, Dysart, died Wednesday morning at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frederick and Mary (Beck) Becker. He was twice married, first to Marjorie Brubaker. She died June 6, 2002. He married Suzy Fleck on Sept. 30, 1991, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife; five children: Frederick L. Jr. of Altoona, Terry L. and wife, Gloria, of Hollidaysburg and Lori J. Little and husband, Kyle, Mark A. and wife, Debbie, and Barry W. and wife, Sandy, all of Altoona; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Jackson of Jackson, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, David S., on June 3, 2010; two brothers: Raymond and James; and a sister, Margie Peterson.
Frederick retired as a tool grinder from SKF in 1990 after many years of service. He held dual church memberships at Fields of Harvest Fellowship, Altoona, and also at Richland Bible Church, Dysart. He enjoyed tinkering, camping and singing.
Friends will be received from 2 until the 8 p.m. funeral service Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, Pastors Hud Crossman, Bob Witherow and Jerry Sneath officiating.
