Scotch Valley drivers need to slow down

November 24, 2012
The Altoona Mirror

I am writing in regard to the Nov. 11 story that ran in the Mirror regarding three crashes that police investigated at the same site.

If Geeseytown Fire Chief Denny Walls really wants "a lot more gray hair and a couple of years off," he should live on Scotch Valley Road.

Cars drive well above the posted speed limits and cross over double-yellow lines to pass vehicles. This has been done to me - once by a motorcyclist, another by an SUV driver - and is a daily occurrence.

It is not a dangerous road. It is the recklessness of drivers who do not abide by the speed limit and keep control of their vehicles.

Slow down; leave your house five minutes earlier. Think about someone other than yourself.
