William J. "Bill" Futey, 54, Gallitzin, died Sunday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Helen (Sekerak) Futey.
Surviving are three siblings: Irene Szynal of Gallitzin, Elaine (Jim) Rice of Harrisburg and John Futey Jr. of Ligonier; and nieces and nephews: Karen (Lee) Houston, Sandia (Jeff) Carruthers, Stephen (Rosalie) Szynal, Jon (Cyndi) Szynal, Lisa (Ed) Rossey, Jim (Mia) Rice and Alan Rice.
Bill worked for Family Dollar as a district manger. He was very fond of his great-nieces and great-nephews and especially enjoyed the hours spent baby-sitting Lydia, Ty and Meredith. He loved cars, especially his Chrysler Cross Fire, and enjoyed traveling, and he was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
