William S. Heaton, 72, Hollidaysburg, died Nov. 11, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William E. and Isabel M. (Greene) Heaton. He married Shirley Jean Parshall on Jan. 20, 1973, at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Pinecroft, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2005.
Surviving are a son, James E. of Hollidaysburg; a stepson, Preston Blake "Rusty" Rutherford of Eureka, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Reed of Lakemont.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jean Horsefall; and a sister, Katherine Aurandt.
William retired in 1998 as a mechanic from SKF with 38 years of service. He enjoyed rebuilding and collecting antique engines and rebuilding antique tractors. He also enjoyed his basset hound, Daisy Mae.
The family shared a private time of farewell at their convenience. Arrangements were by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. Interment was at Antis Cemetery.
