Mary Marjorie Hollister, 90, Altoona, died Sunday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Paul B. and Mabel (Malkin) Hollister.
Surviving are a niece, Deborah of Eagleville; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Hollister of Honey Brook.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; and a nephew, Jeffrey.
Marjorie was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1941 graduate of the Altoona School for Secretaries. She was employed with Bell of PA from 1941-85, retiring from Bell Atlantic. She started there as an operator and progressed to a clerk, repair service attendant, general clerk, district office supervisor and secretary to the division operations manager.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and served as president of both the active and retired groups of Pioneers. She also belonged to the Altoona Story League and served as president of the local league and of the Eastern district of the National Story League.
Marjorie was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church, Altoona, and she held many offices in the church through the years, most recently lay leader. She taught both youth and adult Sunday school classes. She was a lay speaker in the United Methodist Church and spoke in many of the local United Methodist churches. She had also served as president of the Faith United Methodist Women's group.
She was named Woman of Distinction by the Altoona Mirror in January 2000. She has said, "The more you give of yourself, the more comes back to you."
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
