Harold A. Loechner, 85, of Depew Street, Auburn, N.Y., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Albert and Philomena (Flick) Loechner.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Wapner) Loechner; four daughters: Barb (John) Fry of Duncansville, Joanne (Burton) Vane of Rochester, N.Y., Diane Loechner in Florida and Carol (David) Stinson in Virginia; two brothers: Verty Loechner of Hollidaysburg and John (Frances) Loechner in Michigan; five grandchildren: Eleanor, Ethan, Susie, Callie and Jenna; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was a WWII Navy veteran and a graduate of Indiana Tech.
He was employed with North American Phillips Corp., Seneca Falls, N.Y., as an electrical engineer, retiring in the early 1980s.
Harold was an avid golfer and gardener and was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church.
There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Timothy Stein officiating.
Committal prayers will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave. Altoona.
