Genevieve T. Iapalucci, 94, of Cresson died Saturday at her home.
She was born in Cresson, daughter of the late Joseph and Rosaria (DiDomenico) Iapalucci.
She is survived by a niece, Catherine Iapalucci; and a nephew, John Iapalucci, both of Cresson; and other family members: Dr. Elizabeth Murphy, Erin Smith (Michael), Keith Murphy, Deborah Iapalucci, Adrienne and Venita Iapalucci, close cousins: Anthony, Samuel and Michael Iapalucci and Mary Ann Pfrogner; and caregivers: Jean Stich and Tina Roberts.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Vincent, Michael, Nicholas and Louis; sisters: Amelia Ashcraft, Louise Murphy and Mary Rose "Lucy" Iapalucci; a niece, Theresa Iapalucci; and nephews: William Murphy and Joseph Iapalucci.
Genevieve graduated from Cresson High School in 1935 on her 17th birthday. She was employed for 60 years at Frank Calandra Industries, Cresson, where she retired at the age of 78.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson, where she attended daily Mass for many years. She was also a member of Cresson Senior Citizens, a former member and treasurer of St. Vincent DePaul Society and a former volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store, Cresson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev. Leo F. Arnone officiating. Committal will be at the church cemetery.
