Josephine L. "Jo" Hite, 56, Eckenrode Mill Road, Patton, died Saturday at her home.
She was born in Spangler, daughter of the late Carl and Madeline (Holmberg) Durbin.
Jo is survived by her husband, Kevin, whom she married July 28, 1973, in Chest Springs; children: Melisa Hite of Patton, Heather Novotny (Blaise) of Ebensburg and Kevin II (Amy Kline) of Carrolltown; grandchildren: Jocelyn Hornick, Trevor Novotny, Benjamin Hite, Tessa Novotny, Hannah Rose Hite and Eli Hite; siblings: Mary Watt, James, Richard, Jeanette Adams, Patrick, Elaine, Paul and Gregory; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Theresa.
Jo was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. She owned and operated family businesses in Carrolltown. She graduated in 1991 with honors from St. Francis College, Loretto, with a degree in business management. Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, with the Rev. Jude Brady, O.S.B., as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to United Cerebral Palsy or St. Jude's Children Hospital in Jo's memory.
