Terry Douglas Hyde, 36, Tyrone, died unexpectedly Thursday at home after a very brief illness.
He was born in Tyrone, son of Terry and Jane (Maisano) Hyde.
Surviving are his parents of Tyrone; a daughter, MacKenzie Hyde; a sister, Michelle Rudasill, a nephew, Dustin Rudasill, and a niece, Skylar Rudasill, all of Tyrone; his girlfriend, Jennifer "Jenny" Chestney of Altoona; and his former wife, Elizabeth (Groseclose) Hyde of Warriors Mark.

Terry was a 1994 graduate of Tyrone Area High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. He graduated from Penn State University in 1999 with a B.S. degree in kinesiology and earned a master's degree in education in 2005. He taught and coached wrestling in Maryland from 1999-2005 before returning to the area to teach at Juniata Valley High School, where the yearbook was dedicated to him in 2010. He was also an instructor at Penn State Altoona from 2005 until the present.
Terry was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Tyrone Elks, Tyrone American Legion and Monogram Club. His first love and pride and joy was his daughter. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his annual trips to Virginia to hunt turkeys with his family and friends, and his newest passion was golf. His warm blue eyes, a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humor that could always make you laugh made a lasting mark.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone, Pastor Aden Wertz officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park.
