With extreme sadness, John and Christine Dively announce the passing of their beloved cat, William "Willy" Dively, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Blair Animal Hospital, after a brief illness.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

William ‘Willy’ Dively

Willy was a gray and black tabby cat and was friend, companion and family to John and Christine. He loved going for car rides and would climb onto the headrest and lie down. He also loved to snuggle in bed. He liked to open his Christmas gifts and would pull, tear and bite at the paper until they were unwrapped.

Willy's purr was unique, as though he had a little motor inside that he would turn on. He was found as a stray, and we never regretted taking him in. He was our first cat, and he was perfect. If everyone could have a first cat like Willy, there would be no homeless cats.

We miss him terribly. He was so very special.

Surviving are his "mom and dad," John and Christine Dively; Shawn and April Waby-Dively; Cortney Bowser and Ridge Miller; his feline companion, Sweetie; his canine friend, Maxine; and his other pet friends: Simba, Jake, Riley and Wookie.

The Dively family would like to express its deep appreciation to Blair Animal Hospital, especially Dr. Wells and his staff, for the compassion and care they gave William when he became ill.

There are too many people to mention, but Dr. Winkler, Cindy, Terry, Jessica and Heather are a few whose tenderness and care was much appreciated. Dr. Wells assured us that when Willy woke up, he would be in heaven, and we look forward to the day when we will see him again.

Willy's final arrangements were handled with much dignity and care by Chimney Rocks Animal Rest Inc.
