Patty J. (Hoover) Horgas, 80, State College, died Sept. 30, 2012, after a long illness.
She was born in 1932 in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Gerald F. and Martha Elizabeth (Diehl) Hoover.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Joseph J. Horgas, who was her primary caregiver as her health declined; five children: J. Mark and wife, Amy, of State College, Thomas and wife, Wendy Leppert, of Pine Grove Mills, Jay M. and wife, Raeann, of State College, Ann L. and husband, Michael Marsiske, of Gainesville, Fla., and Patti J. of Fairfax, Va.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her only brother, Gerald Hoover, formerly of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Patty graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1950 and the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. For most of her adult life, she lived in Pittsburgh. She worked as an RN at McKeesport Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1996. She greatly enjoyed working as a nurse, had many wonderful friends and touched many lives. In 2010, she relocated to State College to be closer to family.
Patty was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
