Theodore C. Bristow, 90, Duncansville, died Thursday evening at home.

He was born in Cross Keys, son of the late Samuel and Margaret (McClellan) Bristow. He married Doris L. Baker on Jan. 27, 1946, in Duncansville.

Surviving are his wife, Doris; three daughters: Linda Negley (Jim) of Clappertown, Carol Biddle (Galen) of Roaring Spring and Debbie Blakeley (Ricci) of Blairsville; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight half brothers and half sisters.

Ted was a graduate of Milton Hershey School. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII, where he flew B-24 aircraft in 36 missions in the Pacific theater. He received many medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired as postmaster from the Duncansville Post Office.

Ted was an active member of the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, a life member of the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Duncansville VFW, Claysburg American Legion, Chimrock Squares, Holliday Rovers and Kiwanis, where he was a past president.

He enjoyed square dancing and spending time with family at their camp at Raystown. He was a volunteer at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center for more than 20 years.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service with military honors Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church.
