A 91-year-old Altoona man died after a two-vehicle crash at Sixth Avenue and 31st Street.
The man, whose identity was withheld pending notification of his family, was at Reighard's Gas Station on the 3200 block of Sixth Avenue before his 1988 Ford Truck crossed Sixth Avenue, jumped a concrete median and careened through the parking lot of Adler's Landscape Nursery at 31st Street, Altoona Cpl. Daniel DeAntonio said.
The truck turned and headed the wrong way onto Seventh Avenue before striking the front end of a 2005 Buick minivan stopped for a traffic light, police said. The impact caused the truck to turn onto its side, police said.
The driver of the minivan, a 44-year-old Altoona woman, received a minor injury but refused medical treatment, police said. A passenger in the minivan was unhurt.
The man was not wearing his seat belt, police said.
