Conchita O. "Connie" Drost, 66, Duncansville, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Manila, the Philippines, daughter of the late Feliciano and Caridad (Rono) Ortiz. She married Ted W. Drost on July 29, 1967, in the Philippines, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Ted W. Jr. (Christine) of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Sherry (Tim) Manley of Altoona; six grandchildren: Rose and Myla Drost and Tyler, Cole, Trevor and Kaylynn Manley; a sister, Lolita Stephanini of Simpsonville, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Nick (Georgetta) Drost of Altoona; and special people: Daniel and Renee Gottshall of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lilia Sowders.
Connie was a member of First Grace Brethren Church and retired from the Days Inn, Altoona. She enjoyed gardening but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved her dog, Alexis.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, by Pastor John Townsend. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
The family suggests that contributions in Connie's memory be made to First Grace Brethren Church, 2932 Maple Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
