Francis Lorenz "Bud" Bastian, 88, of 13077 Little Hayden Circle, Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Williamsport, son of the late Francis Ralph and Emma (Lorenzen) Bastian.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Betty Jane; two children: Terrie L. Ellis and Francis Allen Bastian, both of Hagerstown, Md.; two grandsons: James Eric Ellis and Philip Bastian; a granddaughter, Daniell Silverio; three great-granddaughters: Cheyenne, Destiny and Dakota Betts; and a brother, Robert of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph; and a sister, Pauline Keller.
Francis was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army in the 801st Engineering Battalion. He was employed with The Hite Co., retiring after many years. He was a member of the Altoona Bible Church and was currently attending the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship in Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing or visitation. A private service will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Len Smith officiating.
